On a day of hot air pumped from Australian interior , refreshing trip to Port Stephens,  to find some calm and spiritual enrichment.   Before getting to Nelson Bay , couple of hours stop in Newcastle . Inspired observer eye stimulates one  for thoughts .

The old façade of impressive architecture of past is enriched by modern buildings build behind Facades,  While walking along the street one reaches historical building of 1860 year construction which was  THE LOCK-UP . The Victorian Regency structure was housing in the , old days lockup being prison , where unfortunate , brutal treatment of INDIGENOUSE  AUSTRALIANS was expressed in incarceration and loss of  freedom .

Now in modern Australia , FIRST AUSTRALIANS , can freely express themselves and show to Australians great art , like of  cross culture Wiradjuri  woman Karla Dickens , artist , who through her  very courageous artistic creations  expresses issues  humanity currently faces .  The art she created presents visitors to the exhibition with issues of Indigenous people  of dispossession . The problems of contemporary world are as well adressed in her art . Climatical problems are interwoven in artist creations .

It can be said ,the Indigenous people  , cared for land  with  the wisdom  of  balance between  the nature and people needs  and it is shown in her art.

After that inspiring short stop-over in Newcastle , beautiful  PORT STEPHENS  is place  to visit and stay in one of the places. With many nice towns like Anna Bay , Fingal and NELSON BAY , where writer decided to stay and explore the nature of ocean , bush , forests , gardens and lovely towns in area, it is joy to stay and relax there .

Dolphins frolicking in the turquoise waters of  Nelson Bay  . Other fun are the felly trips or boats   trips to meet the open ocean .  From one can  go  to Little Bay for a deep . After refreshing swim  lunch at Shoal Bay township will be pleasure to enjoy some good restaurants there . Not far away  is Fingal Bay with observations platforms to see ,in season,  migrating whales . Catch a wave or walk in the bush and come across koala , echidna and enjoy the Cockatoos  conversations, these are other joys for visitors experience there  .

Walk to  Dutchies , Corlette  to enjoy  views of black swans , enjoying the sea grasses there , is a pleasure too .

Short trip to Mile Beach , Boat Harbour to Anna Bay is also fun day trip . In Anna Bay there is historical resting place  and just by Stockton Beach view of dunes , huge ocean surf  or see camel riders on horizon .

Evening with Fish and Chips by boats Harbour in Nelson Bay could be fun .

Before going away from Nelson Bay  visit of GAN GAN and Tomaree peaks for mighty vistas of Port Stephens . It  could be for many , who wish to climb .  .
